ITI Fresher Resume Example

An ITI fresher resume should be short, simple and practical: your trade and NCVT or SCVT certificate, your apprenticeship or on-job training, and the tools, machines and safety rules you know. Employers hiring technicians and apprentices read it quickly, so use plain words, a few clear bullets with numbers and one page. The sample below is for an ITI Electrician and works just as well for Fitter, Welder, Turner or any other trade.

Tips to make your ITI fresher resume stand out

Write your trade and certificate first

Put your trade (Electrician, Fitter, Welder, Turner and so on), NCVT or SCVT, the year and your marks in the headline or summary. Employers and apprenticeship forms check these before anything else.

Count apprenticeship and on-job training as experience

List your apprenticeship, on-job training or helper work under Experience with the company, dates and 3–4 simple bullets. Say what you did and add a number, such as motors maintained or breakdowns handled.

Name the tools and machines you can use

Write the exact names: multimeter, megger, clamp meter, lathe, drilling machine or arc welding set. Supervisors will ask you about them in the interview or trade test, so list only what you have actually used.

Show safety clearly

Mention PPE, LOTO, permit to work and first aid. Plants want technicians who work safely, and a line like 'zero safety incidents in 12 months' is easy for an employer to believe and check.

Keep it simple and on one page

Use plain words, no fancy design and no long paragraphs. For private jobs you can skip date of birth, father's name and the declaration; for government or PSU forms, follow the format they give. See biodata vs resume for when to use which.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a resume as an ITI fresher?

Write your name, phone, email and city at the top, then a 2–3 line summary with your trade, NCVT or SCVT certificate and the job you want. Add apprenticeship or on-job training with simple bullets, then your ITI and Class X marks, trade skills, tools, safety training and languages. Keep it to one page with clear headings and plain words.

What is the difference between NCVT and SCVT on a resume?

An NCVT certificate, the National Trade Certificate (NTC), is issued under the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Government of India, and is recognised across India. An SCVT certificate is issued by a state council for vocational training. Write the one you have exactly as it appears on your certificate, with trade and year. Some employers and recruitments ask for NCVT specifically, so check the official notification first.

Should I add my apprenticeship to my ITI resume?

Yes. An apprenticeship, whether you found it through the government apprenticeship portal or directly with a company, is the strongest experience an ITI fresher can show. List the company, department, trade and dates, then 3–4 bullets on the work you did. Once you pass the apprenticeship trade test, add the National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) under Certifications.

Which jobs can an ITI fresher apply for?

ITI freshers usually apply for technician, electrician, fitter, welder, machine operator, wireman and maintenance helper jobs in factories, construction sites and service companies, and for apprenticeships in private companies and PSUs. Many also apply for railway and other government technician posts. Each recruitment lists its own trades, age limits and certificates, so read the official notification before applying.
